Overview:
The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for monitoring and tracking production, budget, and content of the construction documents. They ensure that small-scale projects and calculations are developed accurately, efficiently, and correctly. This position oversees the entire project design team on a project basis and reports to the Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Meet management and financial targets set by company goals and resource allocation.
- Complete, review, and apply SEOR seal to engineering plans and calculations for the analysis of wood, masonry, concrete, and steel structures using Excel, RISA, EnerCalc, etc.
- Establish, delegate, prioritize, manage, and communicate project tasks and timelines to meet deadlines, coordinating with the Project Manager to accommodate workload distribution.
- Maintain consistent communication, mediate and present structural challenges, and liaise with clients and other project design trades.
- Identify and develop concept solutions for unique project challenges.
- Assist with final edits of drafting and modeling of plans and details as needed.
- Comply with and model company standards, procedures, and Core Values.
- Meet business development goals by cultivating an industry network.
- Assist with writing and negotiating contracts, validating scopes, reviewing budgets, producing invoices, and managing collections.
- Perform site observations to verify construction is in accordance with specifications.
- Manage and review Construction Administration tasks with the design team.
- Function as a Project Engineer on projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; MS preferred.
- 4–6 years of relevant experience with PE license; SE encouraged.
- Mastery of structural design concepts, theories, codes, and practices.
- Proficient in RISA, EnerCalc, and Excel; working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, written, and decision-making skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with a desire to grow in a small, collaborative environment.
