Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for the production, budget, and content of the construction documents. They work to see each project and calculation has been developed accurately, efficiently, and correctly. This is accountable for the entire project design team and is accountable to the Production Director.
Responsibilities:
- Meet management and invoicing targets set by company goals and resource allocation.
- Complete, review, and apply SEOR seal to engineering plans, calculations, and analysis of wood, masonry, concrete, and steel structures using Excel, RISA, EnerCalc, etc.
- Establish, delegate, prioritize, manage, and communicate project tasks and timelines to meet deadlines and coordinate with Production Director to accommodate workload distribution.
- Maintain consistent and clear communication, mediate and present structural challenges, and consistently coordinate with client and other project design trades as required.
- Identify and provide initial concept solutions for unique project challenges.
- Assist with final edits of drafting and modeling of plans and details as required.
- Maintain, comply with, and model company standards, procedures, and Core Values.
- Promote employee growth in Patterson Engineering, Inc through mentorship of all levels.
- Assist with writing and negotiating contracts and amendments, validating project scope, reviewing project budgets, producing invoices, and maintaining collections.
- Perform site observations to verify construction is in accordance with PEI specifications.
- Initiate, delegate, manage, and review Construction Administration tasks with design team.
Qualifications
- BS in Civil/Structural Engineering from ABET accredited program; MS preferred.
- 7 years relevant experience with state registration as PE; SE preferred.
- Mastery of concepts, theories, codes and practices as applied to structural design.
- Proficiency in RISA, EnerCalc, & Excel; working knowledge of AutoCAD & Revit.
- Desire to contribute to the company and the ability to effectively collaborate in a small, team-based organization.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent verbal, written and decision-making acumen, with the ability to communicate with all levels of colleagues and clients.
